Reviews
Such a lovely find. A little outside the really busy centre but only 5 mins walk this restaurant was exactly what we needed after a day exploring the Cotswolds. Welcomed by very friendly staff who made an effort to accommodate our small party of 2 and dog on a very hot and busy Saturday evening. The food was good, the table service very friendly and nicely paced. They even had the just the right ambience for me, with good music and playing loud enough to hear and create privacy not not so loud I had to raise my voice. So pleased we took a punt, will definitely be visiting again if in the area, fully recommend.
Made a reservation based on the Farmer’s Dog recommendations for Bourton on the Water. Came on probably the busiest & hottest day of the year so far, lucky to find one empty space outside (but they’re not easy to get into so be warned ), and the staff were kind enough to adjust our reservation to nearly 2 hours earlier when we called to ask if they could on our journey in. Bar staff knowledgeable about the Hawkstone drinks, very friendly. We both had burgers; they took a little while to come but honestly were worth the wait, homemade, full of flavour, and really good portions. The pub itself is clean, well maintained, lovely decor, and we found all of the staff to be really welcoming. Would definitely visit again
We had such a great experience at The Mousetrap Inn in Bourton-on-the-Water. From the moment we walked in, the place felt warm and welcoming, with a cozy, relaxed vibe that made us feel right at home. The food was fantastic—fresh, seasonal, and full of flavour. I had the fish, which was cooked perfectly. You can tell the ingredients are top quality, and everything was beautifully presented without being over the top. Michelle and the team were brilliant, friendly and helpful. It’s the kind of place you want to linger in—whether you're having a laid-back dinner or just stopping in for a drink. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great food (or just a drink) in a lovely setting.
We didn’t stay in a room but had a beautiful Easter Sunday lunch, Michelle was ever so accommodating & Jimmy was great while we waited & give the gravy man a tip it was the best roast we have had in a long while. Lovely, charming atmosphere and genuinely lovely staff & food and drinks. It’s a relaxed environment, I.e. no table clothes, pour your own wine etc but absolutely perfect for what we needed and would recommend to anyone - certainly the best pub we visited in bourton!!
Our family enjoyed a wonderful dinner in the Mousetrap Inn pub. The proprietor was incredibly friendly and helpful and really helped to make our time here memorable. She also made my gluten intolerant wife feel right at home with lots of options that she could safely enjoy. Our meals were all delicious and beautifully presented. The management here truly cares about providing a great experience for their customers and we would not hesitate to return when next in the area.
